Why do I like basketball ? The reason is because my friends and I like the sport in many different ways. I can play basketball and make many new friends. All people I know who play basketball are always very kind, which is one of the reasons why I like basketball that much. When I first went to my senior high school, I played basketball with my new classmates; they couldn't believe that I could play basketball well. They said that I looked just nothing more than a rookie, and we all laughed at that joke. Because I know that our electronic department didn't get any medals before, my classmates and I promised that we would try and win many medals for our department. Eventually, we fulfilled our wish by winning one gold medal and three bronze medals in the track and field games. Although we were among the better basketball players in the school, we still couldn't beat our senior classmates.
　　 My favorite team in the NBA is the Dallas Mavericks, because Dirk Nowitzki is my role model and idol, I like him because he is tall and he could score from almost anywhere on the court. He led Dallas all the way to the championship game two years ago. Although they eventually lost, they didn't give up and practiced really hard for another opportunity at the championship title. However, they failed to realize their dream when they were defeated by an 8th ranking team. It's really a disgrace. This year, although they played bad, I believe that they will turn out to be the best again. Although I possess the skills to play basketball, I lack the needed bodily strength to get better. That is why I practice and train hard. I want to lead my class to win the department cup in our school. That is my last hope this year. That is also the reason why I love basketball.
